Mixed Billing Practice
Valentine Healthcare operates as a mixed billing practice. Our independent doctors primarily provide services on a private billing basis. Consultation fees are payable at the time of your appointment and can be paid by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card (excluding American Express).
Where applicable, Medicare rebates can be submitted electronically and paid directly into your nominated bank account.
If you are experiencing financial difficulty, we encourage you to discuss this with your doctor or the practice manager so appropriate options can be considered.
Fees are payable at the time of consultation via cash, EFTPOS, or credit card (excluding American Express). We can process your Medicare claim electronically for a direct rebate deposit. - It is a Medicare requirement that patients present a valid Medicare card at each consultation to enable correct processing of claims and rebates.
- Higher consultation fees apply for after-hours services, including appointments conducted before 8:00 am on weekdays. Fees vary depending on the nature and duration of the consultation.
- Pre-employment medical assessments
- Insurance medical examinations
- Certain third-party or occupational health services These services are privately billed.
- Workers’ compensation consultations are billed at WorkCover-approved rates. Patients are required to pay the consultation fee at the time of the appointment and may claim reimbursement from their insurer or WorkCover, subject to approval.
- Aged pensioners and Health Care Card holders may be eligible for discounted fees in certain circumstances. Eligibility is assessed on presentation of a valid concession card. Please speak with reception staff for further information.
- Acupuncture and laser therapy consultations are privately billed services and are not covered by Medicare rebates.
